BiQ: Weekly Recap for 10/10/26

It's been a while since I published a Weekly Recap. I felt that regular, daily updates via BiQ Chat would prove more helpful for members; however, since many BiQ members still haven't signed up for BiQ Chat, I will also try to provide regular updates via this email newsletter to keep non-chat members better up to date. Still, I strongly recommend members join BiQ Chat if at all possible by clicking here.

Members who follow along in the chat forum are probably aware that, over the past year, I've also been providing significant coverage of my non-biotech investing ideas. I feel recent technological innovations offer investors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity across multiple industrial sectors. Although I remain committed to the biotech sector, and it remains a core focus at Biotech iQ, I also believe it's in investors' interest to follow what's happening across industries spanning technology, aerospace, space, defense, mining, energy, and precious metals. I have significant investments across these sectors, which I have been sharing with BiQ members through BiQ Chat.

While each sector is unique and requires a different analytical approach, my core methodology remains the same: identify opportunities the market is undervaluing through deep research, develop a long-term thesis, identify an attractive entry point, tune out the short-term volatility & noise, and remain invested as long as the thesis stays on track and the risk/reward looks attractive. This has served us very well for our biotech names, and is also working well for the non-biotech portfolio. BiQ members can view the current status and performance of the biotech and non-biotech portfolio by clicking here.

For now, my plan is to keep everything under one service, which I believe offers the most value to BiQ members. I may revisit this in the future if the information flow becomes too overwhelming. For now, the Biotech iQ Active Portfolio (BiQAP) will remain focused purely on our top biotech ideas, while updates for non-BiQAP ideas will be provided (as time allows) in BiQ Chat and through the Weekly Recap.

Selected BiQAP Highlights

Selected Non-BiQAP Highlights

  • AbCellera Biologics (ABCL) will announce new multiple ascending dose (MAD) data and patient-reported outcomes for ABCL635 at TMS 2026 later this month. Clean repeat-dose safety, especially on liver signals given Veozah’s boxed warning, would support the long-acting antibody thesis. Strong patient-reported outcomes, such as sleep and quality-of-life measures, would help argue that infrequent dosing improves how patients actually feel.

  • Broadcom (AVGO) will be providing an update on its Ethernet and optics for scale-up networks for large ASIC clusters, where Broadcom directly challenges NVDA's NVLink.

  • Electro Optic Systems (EOPSF) announced an agreement on a A$700M contract for a counter-drone defense system for a Middle Eastern Gulf state. Strategically, this is the first large proof of the MARSS thesis, with EOS as the prime contractor and systems integrator, with MARSS's NiDAR C2 at the core. The contract is still conditional on certain performance requirements, but it strengthens the thesis.

  • Transocean (RIG) announced partner approval for the Equinor agreement, moving $1B to the confirmed backlog. The company also announced an additional $62M in confirmed backlog with Shell. While this doesn't change much for the stock, it helps firm up cash flow expectations and supports continued demand for the company's harsh-environment rigs in Norway.

Transocean Ltd. Announces Contract Backlog of Approximately $1.1 Billion, Including Fully Approved Equinor Agreement | Transocean Ltd.
  • SpaceX (SPCX) made a major announcement this past week about purchasing 14MHz of paired spectrum in the 800MHz band from Grain. The market took this as confirmation of SpaceX's plan to become an MNO and compete directly with the AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile oligopoly. The news triggered a selloff in shares for all three companies, as well as some non-US MNOs. It also triggered a run in tower companies' shares. I think the news is interesting, but was largely expected. I also think the market reaction may have run too far in both directions. (See the Paid Member Section for a more detailed discussion.)
  • Zeta Global (ZETA) shares ran this past week on the company's announcement of AthenaOS. I think AthenaOS could be strategically important for the company over the long term; however, I don't see any significant near-term impact on revenue, at least until more details are available about pricing and revenue metrics.

The company also announced plans to develop a custom ASIC with an unnamed semiconductor partner. The market seemed to react well to the news; however, personally, I don't think it makes sense for a company of Zeta's size to develop its own custom ASIC. It remains to be seen whether this was just meant to grab headlines, or whether the company actually plans to devote resources to the project.
